Last Mississippi Days

Our last days in Mississippi were great with buying a King Cake to celebrate Mardi Gras.  The tradition of sharing a "King Cake" with family and friends during the Mardi Gras season began in the middle ages.  This tradition was brought to the southern US by colonists from France and Spain.  Today a pot of coffee and a King Cake constitutes a party and the lucky person who finds the baby in their slice of cake must host the next party, thereby continuing the social gatherings throughout the season.  When J opened the cake box there in the center of the circular cake was a plastic baby doll with J hollering, "It's a boy"!  LOL  Then I got a laugh on J as I told him he could host next season's trip to Mardi Gras.  LOL

The colors of Mardi Gras signify the following:
Purple = Justice
Green = Faith
Gold = Power

We also visited the Vietnam War Memorial Park.

Our last Mexican hurrah was in D'Iberville at El Rancho.  YUM!  Best in the area.

Until next trip, be safe...see you by the campfire.
