Overcast skies as we headed out for new adventure. On I-10 West the wind started to pick up. By the time we got to Palm Springs the wind was on our nose blowing 25 mph plus.
The highway dept. caution sign said....Caution...high wind...Not advisable for high profile vehicles. J slowed down to 45 mph and we made it just fine. Our Chevy is geared great for this 6-7% grade backing down without J having to touch the brakes. Sweet! A slight mist of rain.Things are starting to bloom and green up here in Hemet, CA. Finally, we arrived at Golden Village Palms RV gated park. It is HUGE...over 1000 sites. Registered for 1 week with the park manager showing us around for us to pick a camping site.
Packed in like sardines....We do have a nice site where we are backed up to shrubs. In some areas you would be looking out your rear big window into the big rear window of your neighbor. GRRR
This definitely is a country club park. 3 pools, 3 spas (all 3 different temps), billiard room, work out room, tennis, pickleball, golf, dancing (especially ball room and square dancing), computer lab, game room, PLUS. This park, too, has fruit trees for the picking...lemon, orange, grapefruit, kumquat, tangerines, and figs. The manager brought me a grocery bag to pick fruit. WOW!
They do have an ant problem; but, will spray your rig and area plus trim any shrubs that may be touching your rig. There are bunny rabbits and birds galore. Sites are tight; but, neighbors friendly.
We had the shrubs trimmed off our rig and our area sprayed for ants as a preventive. Thus far...no ants. Lots of bunnies....morning and late afternoon. This bunny is just outside our back door.

Tuesday night we enjoyed the hot tub with Canadians from Saskatchewan and J bumped into a man who had lived in his home town (back when) for 40 yrs. So, they had quite a few laughs about days gone by as beach boys. While in the hot tub, right down at dusk, here comes Mr. & Mrs. Mallard ducks. They landed in one of the 3 pools swimming around, taking their bath and drinking pool water. The Canadian lady said this one pair of ducks has been coming to this resort for at least the last 3 yrs. They nest in a big round planter beside the pools and have their duckling brood. Once the ducklings hatch, the resort will lay a board up against the planter for the babies to walk down to swim in the pool. There are also poolside bunnies who run, jump and play.
There they are and here is the planter where they like to nest.

The Bird of Paradise (above) is blooming, too. One of my favorite flowers. Remember to click on a picture IF you wish to view it LARGER.
Until next time...stay well...be safe. See you by the campfire.

We checked out the town finding Stater Bros grocery store & Walmart. Nearby Marie Callender's for yummy pies is permanently CLOSED. Bummer. There is a See's Candy store here. Look out!!!
Today, Thursday, was another Walmart day to find an attachment for our sewer hose. As we rode thru Hemet I noticed some more metal art. This artwork reminds me of a patchwork quilt in how they are welded together creating art.
Here at our resort and all over town are some sort of blooming shrub that gives off the sweetest smell.
