Mississippi has been nice with their bayous and delta land. Our campsite #11 was almost across from the Club House. Nice level sites with cement pads & lightweight picnic tables. The tables have a type of plastic top and fold for storage. Different from the heavy cement or wood of most campgrounds. One section of this campground has permanent campers with some rentals. Operators here are very friendly and helpful. FREE Wi-fi and full hook-ups. NO DUMP STATION! They also sell propane. J cooked lunch...electric frypan of spaghetti with a cheese topping. OH YUM! The Club House is big & heated with a library, tables/chairs for games/puzzles & pot lucks, fireplace, big screen TV, sofa & chairs, 3 recliners, kitchen, bath with hot showers. Today's cold, foggy day gaveway to sunshine with warmer than normal temps...all ahead of another Arctic blast due to hit tonight. Was a good day for a campground walk. The outdoor pool did not look like it had been used lately. Temps just too cold. The laundry house was under re-construction. There was one lone washer that the worker said was a "dry washer". LOL A part of the Wolf River wound along the edge of the campground as a lone Pied-Billed Grebe was diving in the water being camera shy.
The beach alongside the main Wolf River was about 1 mi. from the campsite. Our walk also took us around the small pond full of small fish behind our camper. You can see our rig behind the pines.
J resting beside the fish pond.
Catch and Release ONLY.
Back at camp I did some outside cooking for dinner....fried onions/sweet & hot garden peppers, cube steaks, garden rutabaga leaves, garden Georgia Big Boy peas, and a nuked Irish potato for J. YUM! Catching some good tennis and hockey on TV. Also checking campgrounds online trying to find some more FREEBEES. :)
Tomorrow will be Gulfport, MS, again for SAMS CLUB and some more sight seeing.
Take care. Safe travels.
See you by the campfire.
