Sunday Travels...

Next campsite was TLC Wolf River Resort near Pass-Christian, MS.  We were given 4days/3nights FREE camping.  Can't beat that!  Pass-Christian is known as "natures gift to the Gulf Coast" and nicknamed "The Pass".  Nestled upon a peninsula and surrounded almost completely by water and imbedded with springs, bayous, and canals makes this area alluring to fishermen, golfers, and retirees.  After setting up camp, we took a Sunday drive along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico.  The road leading from our campground to the ocean was lined with huge live oak trees and homes with the road opening to the beach and ocean.
We took in the sites along the beachfront lined with huge Antebellum homes.  We crossed a long bridge over Bay St. Louis to the city of Bay St. Louis.  A couple CSX engines were stopped with a long line of cars on the rail bridge over the bay.  We drove to Buccaneer State Park checking out all the camping areas along the coast.  This park/campground was completely destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.  They are still in the re-build phase.  At the end of our scenic byway was The Silver Slipper Casino who also has RV camping nearby.  The marina next door was full of shrimp boats waiting for their season to begin.  They were lined 4 deep.

On to Rt. 90 and the Mississippi Welcome Center near the Infinity Science Museum.  They were all decked out for Mardi Gras.  J looks good in his space suit.  Got some good info from the Welcome Center Host.

Outside the Welcome Center was a Lunar Lander.

Back at camp we were greeted by the campground Indian.  Now time to settle in for the night.

Two more days before we will pull out on Wednesday for more adventure.  See you by the campfire.
