Benson Westward

One grumble for Arizona........ALL REST AREAS ON I-10 WERE CLOSED!  Grrrrrrrrrr

I did pick up 2 more patches...NM & AZ
Topography constantly changing.  I'm still enjoying the bridge art.  Here is the cowboy on his horse and cattle.

Draws and washes continue to be bone dry.

As we drove from Deming, NM westward there were huge orchards of walnuts and pecans and vineyards.  YUM!

Signs every now and then warning of miles upon miles of blowing dust.

The colors of the rocks are changing, too.

Pato Blanco Lakes RV Park is located in Benson, AZ, in Cochise County 45 miles east-southeast of Tucson.  Here we enjoyed their 89 degree heated outdoor pool and 103 degree hot tub. Took the road aches out your body along with a good nights sleep.

 Now building art.  So pretty.

Our trip to Walmart was not without incident.  We came out to find this AZ Toyota snug up against our hitch.  YEAH for a big hitch.  They may have a dent.  ???

Friendly management as well as campers. We met a couple Canadians who winter here and a couple from Phoenix, AZ. They have weekly activities...pool aerobics, card bingo, bonfires, pot lucks, 4-wheel desert rides, plus.  Laundry and propane available, too.

Benson, AZ, is located in Cochise County about 45 miles from Tucson.  It was founded as a rail terminal for the area.  The city was founded in 1880 when the Southern Pacific Railroad came through and named after Judge Benson.  The RR coming overland from California, chose the Benson site to cross the San Pedro River.

This definitely is an Adult RV Park for a return visit or a month stay.  Lots of activities and the heated pool and hot tub was awesome.

While here we made a trip to Tucson, AZ, taking in the Saguaro National Park.  Next BLOG.

Take care.  See you by the campfire.
