Borrego Springs, CA, Trip

Something more than desert flowers attracted us to Borrego Springs, CA.  Snacks and water were packed for a day of adventure.  We drove the Borrego Salton Sea Way (Erosion Road) thru the Borrego Badlands.  This showed the constant conflict of forces at work...faulting, erosion, mountains, canyons, alluvial fans, dry lake beds, & bajadas plus.  This brought back memories for J and family riding motorcycles as they explored the deserts of CA.

As we entered San Diego County, we also entered the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.  This park surrounds the town of Borrego Springs.  No stop lights in town; but, it does have a central round-about called the Christmas Circle.  We had an informative stop at the Natural History place.

See plaque below for the sculpture at right....

Finally, we reached our destination.................... 22 miles of desert metal art work where we drove along sandy bumpy desert roads thru cactus and pucker bushes to get a closer look for a photo shoot.
Check out my next blog for the awesome sculptures.  Take care...be safe...see you by the campfire.
