Desert Bloom...

A few drops of rain is just enough to give nourishment to the desert for it to bloom.  Here are a few things seen on our Borrego Springs and Anzo-Borrego State Park visits.

Beavertail cactus.................................and...................... a white desert lilly

The Chuparosa (above) is a dependable bloomer, sporting bright red blossoms.

A bird found a nice brace in the Blue Palo Verde tree for its nest.

Smoke tree to right.

Blue Indigo below.
                                                                        Here is Lavender......

The Ocotillo (below) is NOT a cactus.  Its needles are thornes, not spines.  Desert iguanas and ground squirrels love to run up/down their branches. After a light rain, the Ocotillo will sprout green leaves; but, will shed these leaves after the soil becomes dry.  It can provide food and shelter.  Local Indian tribes brewed tea from its flowers and constructed fences and roofs with its sturdy limbs.

Upon arrival back at the RV Resort, J stopped for me to pick 4 nice grapefruit.  Find me in the tree, if you can.  LOL  I was so darn short, I had to call J to come pick.  Needed that tall NC guy here.  LOL

I gained 3 more patches to add to my growing collection.

Until next time...take care...be safe...see you by the campfire.
